Virtual Orchestra&nbsp;for Palestine<\/strong>&nbsp;(PALVO)&nbsp;is a new initiative to foster musical production in and out of Palestine in the spirit&nbsp;of solidarity and cooperation.\u202fThe project seeks to support musical production that is accessible and open to everyone, regardless of&nbsp;nationality, and&nbsp;therefore also not&nbsp;costly, enabling&nbsp;it to be&nbsp;produced with limited budgets.\u202fThe project is a direct response to the challenges facing Palestinian artists, who are dispersed across the world and often unable to&nbsp;travel whilst&nbsp;also finding it increasingly difficult to obtain funding that does not compromise their artistic and political autonomy.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the face of these challenges&nbsp;Palvo&nbsp;aims to help Palestinian musicians to work&nbsp;together, regardless&nbsp;of where they&nbsp;live,&nbsp;in&nbsp;Palestine and&nbsp;elsewhere, and&nbsp;to provide opportunities for other musicians from across the world to collaborate with them.\u202fThrough&nbsp;music, the&nbsp;initiative thereby seeks to provide a platform for solidarity with the Palestinian people in&nbsp;their&nbsp;struggle for liberation,&nbsp;independence&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;right of return.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because Palestinian musicians often work in difficult\u00a0circumstances, lacking\u00a0sufficient\u00a0institutional support and outlets for their work, the\u00a0Palvo\u00a0initiative\u00a0seeks to make possible musical production that does not necessarily entail the customary succession of rehearsals\u00a0culminating in a performance held before an audience in a performance venue.\u202fRather, we seek to help musicians\u00a0to\u00a0free themselves from the constraints of both time and place, enabling them to prepare sessions and rehearsals as their time and circumstances\u00a0allow, and\u00a0helping them record music from anywhere in the world.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We aim for this support to be available to performers and producers with different kinds of&nbsp;experience,&nbsp;whether&nbsp;amateurs or&nbsp;professionals, helping&nbsp;them draw on and develop their individual training and skills,\u202fregardless of where they find themselves in their career.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We seek by such means to build a creative forum for musicians,&nbsp;technicians&nbsp;and&nbsp;artists, where&nbsp;they will be able to&nbsp;meet, explore&nbsp;and collaborate together&nbsp;and&nbsp;make&nbsp;music that can reach the world,&nbsp;irrespective of national borders and political censorship.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0PALVO project\u00a0has been\u00a0conceived and designed by Bishara Khell\u00a0with the support and\u00a0partnership\u00a0of the A.M.\u00a0Qattan\u00a0Foundation.\u202fIt is the intention of both\u00a0parties to develop it into an independent freestanding project that can be sustained
